Watersheds

The management of Wayne County’s watersheds will no doubt be a topic of interest over the coming decades.  The identification of specific waterhseds, both major and minor, is valuable information in regard to stormwater management, water conservation and the monitoring of water quality.  From a basic countywide perspective, Wayne County lies in both the Susquehanna River Basin on its western side and, to a much greater extent, the Delaware River Basin.  Water resources are managed by the Susquehanna River Basin Commission (SRBC) and the Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC).

Watersheds have their own characteristics and it will likely be increasingly important to be able to distinguish the location of specific interests with respect to the watershed in which one may reside.  The Wayne County Planning Department has provided mapping of both the major and minor watersheds in the County for reference.  Click on the following link to view detailed Watershed Maps.
